Canfield’s VECTRA® WB360 is on Wheels! Australian Skin Cancer Foundation Launches New 3D Skin Check Mobile Clinic

The Australian Skin Cancer Foundation (ASCF) launched the world’s first mobile 3D skin check service with total body 3D imaging by Canfield Scientific’s groundbreaking VECTRA® WB360 whole-body imaging system. ASCF raises awareness about sun safety and increases access to skin checks – with this new service at no cost. Following the grand opening at the popular Manly Beach, this mobile clinic will travel nationwide to provide state-of-the-art care. Special emphasis will be given to regions in Australia where access to dermatological care is limited or where wait times are prolonged.

Designed specifically for dermatology, the VECTRA WB360 instantaneously records the patient’s entire exposed skin surface and body shape with a single capture. Pairing with Canfield’s D2 Digital Dermatoscope ensures reliable documentation and precision in every capture. Both systems are fully integrated with DermaGraphix®, the advanced total body skin surveillance software, which enables simple but powerful review of both overview and dermoscopy images. This technology will facilitate  efficient and effective skin checks at the mobile clinic utilizing both innovative approaches to examinations.

To support the launch and its mission to improve patient care, Canfield Scientific’s Australian team attended the event. Matthew Wolf, Director of Sales Australia and New Zealand, stated: “This is the same technology used in leading dermatology centres around the world. Thanks to Westfund’s donation of the machine, it’s now mobile, allowing Australians in regional and rural communities to access world-class screening that would otherwise be out of reach.”

ASCF’s first mobile truck launched in 2023. Since then, over 13,000 free skin checks have been delivered to Australians discovering over 5,000 non-melanoma skin cancers and 166 suspected melanomas. This new and improved truck with the top dermatological technology will build on this previous success and provide even further access to Australians. Canfield Scientific is proud to take part in this initiative and is committed to elevating patient care world-wide.
