Your own call first, then the AI's: at the workshop on March 4, 2026, participants rated dermoscopic cases in a live smartphone quiz. The cases were provided by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Stolz, one of the world's leading experts in dermoscopy, who presented alongside Dr. Ulrich Koch. Practice staff of the invited Canfield users attended a separate workshop running in parallel.

Following a welcome from Peter Klar, Managing Director of Canfield Scientific GmbH, Prof. Stolz set out his view of the “Future Skills of Dermoscopy”: guideline-based diagnosis grounded in current evidence, combined with digital competence.

Dr. Koch explained concepts such as the risk assessment score and positive and negative predictive values. Participants then rated cases that had previously been assessed by the AI system DEXI^®*, and Prof. Stolz placed both in their differential-diagnostic context.

In the practical session, physicians worked with IntelliStudio®, from total body photography to sequential dermoscopy, guided by the speakers – covering initial and follow-up examinations and the Lesion Visualizer. Dr. Koch discussed best practices, self-pay services and the new German fee schedule. VISIA^®, NEXA^® and VECTRA^® H2 demonstrated applications well beyond aesthetics: clinical documentation, forensics and inflammatory skin diseases.

Canfield's team trained practice staff on DermaGraphix^®, the D2/D200 cameras, IntelliStudio^®, VISIA^®, NEXA^® and VECTRA^® H2, with a focus on carrying out examinations independently and avoiding common errors.
