For Dr. Claas Ulrich, sequential digital imaging is more than a tool: it marks a paradigm shift in skin cancer screening. With this thesis he opened the workshop for Canfield users and their practice staff on May 20, 2026. After a welcome from Peter Klar, Managing Director of Canfield Scientific GmbH, the two groups worked in parallel sessions.

Workloads are rising, and so are the demands on early detection – modern systems are essential to reconcile the two. Claas Ulrich also made the connection to aesthetic dermatology, where dermoscopic systems can be used in an economically sensible way. Together with Dr. Koch, he showed how powerful AI is in secondary prevention and how sensitivity and specificity shape the physician's decision. Case presentations illustrated the use of sequential digital dermoscopy with and without body mapping.

Dr. Koch then covered best practices, legal requirements, data protection and the new German fee schedule. The Q&A opened up further applications in aesthetics, clinical documentation and inflammatory skin diseases.

Canfield's team trained practice staff live on the systems: patient preparation, examination, preparing findings in DermaGraphix^®, using IntelliStudio^® within the practice team while avoiding errors, and VISIA^® for dermocosmetics and treatment monitoring. Their Q&A focused on patient communication and treatment recommendations.

Both groups came back together for the networking dinner.
