VISIA® Skin Analysis UV Imaging Featured on Fox News with Dr. Jody Levine

Canfield’s VISIA® Skin Analysis was recently featured on a Fox & Friends segment with Dr. Jody Levine, dermatologist at Plastic Surgery & Dermatology of NYC. During the segment, Dr. Levine demonstrated VISIA’s UV imaging to showcase the importance of proper sunscreen application and compare coverage across different sunscreen products.

As part of the demonstration, Dr. Levine used VISIA to capture highest-quality, standardized UV facial images of Fox meteorologist Adam Klotz. The UV images revealed where sunscreen had been applied effectively and where coverage was missing.

These insights are made possible through VISIA’s standard, cross-polarized, and UV lighting modes. UV photography specifically provides a comprehensive set of images for sun damage assessment and analysis, giving providers a powerful visual aid for communicating with patients about their skin health.

Building on those visuals, Dr. Levine compared sunscreen application techniques and explained that products such as sunscreen sticks may require extra care and the use of a mirror to avoid missed areas. In contrast, a properly applied full-face mineral sunscreen can provide more complete visual coverage.

In addition to showing sunscreen coverage, VISIA analyzes Spots on the surface and UV Spots below the surface of the skin. Because sun damage may not yet be visible to the naked eye, UV imaging can encourage patients to take a more proactive approach to daily sun protection and long-term skin health.

Together, VISIA’s capabilities help providers communicate skin conditions more effectively and support personalized treatment planning.
