Canfield Certifies Safe Harbor Privacy Protection
To meet the stringent privacy standards required in today's global commerce, Canfield has self-certified its compliance with the Safe Harbor Frameworks developed by the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland in partnership with the US Department of Commerce. Canfield can now certify to its customers in the European Union and Switzerland that it provides the level of protection they require for the transfer and processing of personal information received by Canfield from their members. Safe Harbor is a self-regulatory mechanism under which US based companies can voluntarily agree to abide by a set of "Safe Harbor Principles" negotiated between the United States government and the European Commission. Transfers made to a Safe Harbor certified company in the United States are deemed as having an adequate level of data protection.
